We had such a peaceful drive through the
, home to more
s than Joshua Tree NP itself! It was quiet, not as hot as I suspected, dry, and full of plant and animal life. Yucca, agave, lizards and small furry beasts were everywhere. The
were blinding at high noon, but the light was fantastic! Really thankful to the guard in Barstow, CA who let us into the station after hours. We had such a relaxing drive we arrived late. Got that stamp though!. The ranger station located at
was closed due to water problems so we had a picnic there outside and watched the trains go by.
The
- one of the newest NPS, was gorgeous.
