We took a little last day of spring break day-cation to the 12th South neighborhood. Much has and can be written about this hip areal its a great spot for tourists and locals alike- although I will always miss this location for art gallery Blackbird Tattoo & Gallery!
We browsed hip gas station turned icon Imogene & Willie, then had avocado and chai latte Popsicles at Las Paletas. We started at one end, walked through the park, then up the other. At Sprinkles my son had to stop at the Cupcake ATM l!
The Christmas tree guys have set up their corner with a thousand blooms, which will stay up thru June. I grabbed an orange fire cracker tree- who knows the real botanical name, and the kids picked up teeny tiny succulents.
We ended the afternoon with a drive around the block to the City Cemetery. What a peaceful and beautiful breath of fresh air. The cemetery is one of the oldest in the city, with an extensive data base you can search and historical plaques. They even have an app! Scan a QR code at the parking area and get information and historical facts.
