We had a magical, sunny late afternoon a few weeks ago at charming
for Hope & Brad Blackman's Christmas cards. I got to run around with three of the happiest, most excited kiddos in town-and even snuck a few of mama kissing daddy, who are celebrating their 8 year anniversary today! I met Brad via the Nashville art scene where he is a prolific and celebrated painter. What I like the most about Brad is his willingness to help out other artists by encouraging and offering practical advice. He has a great blog where he engages artists and non artists to be a part of the art world through reviews, challenges, pricing help, and spotlights on other artists.
The biggest challenge when photographing exuberant and giggling children is usually getting the parents to look at the camera- everyone did wonderfully however and it is pretty easy to see happiness and contentment of this family. Anyone who know me though knows my favorite moments to photograph are those when memories are being made without posed direction. I loved the moments where their eldest son was looking into the water of small streams smiling, or playing peek a boo in the covers. Or their daughter asking me to come with her see the magic water creatures she discovered! I loved seeing them play together, and dance, and pull each other in wagons. A quick potty break by the youngest was easily one of the most hilarious moments- because kids have the best ability to make us see what is really important and to just laugh at the simple and wonderful moments in every day life.

Memories are for more than a news feed- they are for a lifetime!
Sometimes I tell people to blow me raspberries, because raspberries are hilarious!
